A LOOK INTO THE PAST
marking the creation of a dream
Over the course of my childhood, it was always my mother we went to whenever we had blemishes, fractures or issues with our skin- my sister and I. As if from the depths of a fairy-tale, she would consult the old, battered book of health. Inside it were the answers to all our unprecedented, in-relinquished disorientations in regards to the very skin we lived- and continue to live in. She'd pick a recipe, and before we knew it, her pharmacist friend had brought its thought into being. This was my normal, the regular solution to problems related to my skin, just as it was for my sister. It was only after I had grown into the role of a physician-scientist that I began to appreciate, beyond measure, how distinct the solutions our mother provided were. After my move to the US, I started to undertake the exploration for a new- a different- skincare product. Many of these dermatological products I experimented with were off the shelf products, but whether we'd like to blame my upbringing or my knowledge with skincare, nothing was able to climb the bar as I'd hoped they would. Inevitably, I returned to my own mother's very formulations. My sister- a working attorney- and I had always aspired to undertake a project with an end result that would bring us closer, professionally, instead of just personally- which is when the story really begins.

The more I grew and settled into Los Angeles, the more I recognized my need to combat the issues of aging and the harsh environmental shifts my skin took on. Upon initial reaction, I brought quantities of my mother's products, but soon this plan became unfeasible and downright unreasonable. Through the enlisting of expertise from fellow scientists experienced in skincare formulation, the process of updating the cherished recipes collected by my mother over decades took its leap and overcame this difficulty. My quantitative intention was for the production of these products to be for myself, close friends, and family. However, two things changed: firstly, I developed a deep passion for refining and perfecting the recipes; secondly, the positive feedback from those who used our products inspired me to make them available to everyone.
